It's extremely important to check surf conditions before heading out for a day at the beach. If HIGH rip current or marine pest warnings (man o' war, jellyfish, sea lice, etc.) are issued, it might be wise to reschedule your visit to the beach. Also, if you have children, check the times for low and high tides. At low tide, the water will be shallower allowing safer swimming conditions for the little ones.
